In the Spring of 2011 we started our internship program. Through this program it is our goal to give university students real world experience, the opportunity to build a competitive resume, and for them to gain marketable leadership skills. The Zelaya Internship program helps students develop, implement, and illustrate a strong work ethic, strong communication skills, effective organizational management skills, powerful sales skills, and an overall understanding of the mechanics of leadership which can be applied to any profession.
Our current Interns are learning what is in our internship program that prepares them for careers after school:
Humair Mughal
George Mason University
Class of 2013
Major: Accounting
Position: Sales Intern
Humair Mughal has grown up in a family that fostered his entrepreneurial spirit. Since high school, Humair has worked in his family’s business. Humair hopes to gain business management experience from our internship program. After college he looks forward to putting his degree to use in a career in business consulting.
Ariel Villa
University of Maryland, College Park
Class of 2015
Major: Vocal Performance
Position: Communications Intern
When we asked Ariel why a vocal performance major would want to be our communications intern, she replied that her second passion is the written word — Shakespeare’s words in particular. Ariel feels that writing for business will be a new challenge and will only strengthen her already stellar written communication skills. She promises that she will refrain from writing sonnets about home improvement.
Christine Marriott
Position: Information Technology Intern
Christine Marriott is a self-motivated and dedicated individual who takes pride in her job. With over 18 years in customer service Christine knows how to go the extra mile for clients and customers.
As a team player Christine knows the value of staying positive, problem solving, and thinking outside the box. Always armed with a smile, laugh, or compliment Christine helps to motivate those around her.
Currently, Christine holds an Associates degree in Information Technology with a concentration in Network Systems Security and will begin her Bachelors program October 2011. Through continued hard work and dedication Christine is striving to graduate with honors.
Never one to shy away from a challenge, Christine puts her whole self in all that she does. A favorite quote of hers is by Thomas Edison
“Opportunity is missed by most people because it comes dressed in overalls and looks like work.”
Christine’s work ethic, customer service skills, and degree in IT make her an asset to the Zeleya Properties team.
Our office is in Northern Virginia. We are easy to get to from Washington DC or Maryland for participating in our internship program.
